Recognizing the prevalent realization among colleagues in law firms and legal in-house departments regarding the imperative for change coupled with the uncertainty of where to commence digitalization efforts, the LLI initiated the project “Digitalization Guide 2nd Edition.” In an era where adapting to new circumstances is crucial to managing escalating workloads and meeting client expectations, it becomes imperative to guide legal professionals into the digital future. Clients’ reluctance to pay exorbitant hourly rates for legal services underscores the need for an efficient and innovative approach. Leveraging our collective expert knowledge and experience, we aim to provide a fast track into the digital landscape, offering a crowd-sourced compilation of best practice tips and ready-to-use checklists to kickstart digitalization projects for legal professionals.
How we do it
Through a collaborative crowd-writing effort, the Digitalization Guide 2nd Edition unfolds as a comprehensive resource, offering strategic insights and practical guidance for legal professionals venturing into digitalization. Chapter 1 sets the stage by emphasizing the right mindset, strategic considerations, and securing support from above. Chapter 2 provides a step-by-step guide to project execution, encompassing team composition, market research, design, development, testing, and launch, with a focus on garnering positive user feedback.
Chapter 3 navigates the post-launch phase, addressing troubleshooting, change stabilization, product or service enhancement, and success management. The guide offers high-level recommendations, urging professionals to stabilize success and actively participate in ongoing experiences and discussions in the realm of digitization. The goal is to foster an environment where legal professionals not only adapt to digital change but actively contribute to and benefit from a collective exchange of experiences in upcoming events.
