Generative AI, GPTs and LLMs aka ChatGPT Roundtable

Why we do it

The “Generative AI, GPTs, and LLMs AKA ChatGPT Roundtable” is a pioneering initiative by the Liquid Legal Institute (LLI) aimed at delving into the transformative impact of Generative AI, particularly exploring models like GPTs (Generative Pre-trained Transformers) and LLMs (Large Language Models). This roundtable seeks to dissect the implications of these advanced AI technologies on the legal landscape. The core motivation is to understand how these models can enhance legal processes, improve document analysis, and potentially revolutionize legal research and information retrieval. By fostering an in-depth conversation among legal professionals, AI experts, and technology enthusiasts, the roundtable aims to navigate the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and the legal domain.

How we do it

The roundtable adopts an interactive and collaborative approach, bringing together legal experts, AI researchers, and technology enthusiasts in a shared exploration of the capabilities and challenges posed by Generative AI, GPTs, and LLMs. Through structured discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and case studies, participants actively engage in understanding the practical applications of these AI models in legal contexts.

The roundtable also aims to address ethical considerations, potential biases, and the responsible use of AI in the legal field. By creating a space for open dialogue and exchange of insights, the roundtable fosters a community-driven exploration of the transformative potential of Generative AI in the legal industry.

Liquid Legal Summit 2024

Current issues such as decreasing enrollments, a lack of essential skills, inefficient processes, and digital disparities in justice indicate a deep-rooted crisis. Accelerated by AI developments, these problems particularly impact copyright and regulatory aspects of the legal sector. These topics will be discussed at the Liquid Legal Summit on July 4 at the Kameha Grand Hotel in Bonn, focusing on joint efforts to tackle these challenges.
