The LegalTech Digitalization Guide

WHAT IS IT AND WHO IS INVOLVED?

A team of experts, from established LegalTech companies, legal departments, and consulting aims to create a highly demanded Digitalization Guide to conceptualize and implement innovative projects within companies to foster the transformation. The Guide will provide concrete action items and a step-by-step process description how to initialize and proceed in a transformation project. It covers technological, socio-technical, and economical aspects. #

WHY DO WE THINK IT IS USEFUL?

Today’s enterprises (especially legal departments) often struggle in digital transformation projects. The Digitalization Guide by LLI e.V. supports involved parties, e.g., lawyers, IT experts, consultants, etc., to answer mission critical questions before starting a concrete project. This decreases the organizational efforts and risks along the project.

HOW IS IT USED?

At the start of a new transformation project in legal departments the Digitalization Guide serves as blue print by structuring and prioritizing the work packages. Persons in charge can reuse the processes, steps, and artifacts as described in the Guide.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?

The project will be co-headed by LLI representatives and carried out in the following 4 phases:

  1. Common Understanding: Joint sessions of involved LLI members to clarify scope and objective
  2. Information Collection: Provide input from experts (individually and in tandems)
  3. Consolidation: Iterative consistency checks to meet high quality standards
  4. Editing and Reviewing: Simplifications, visualizations and checklists

TIMELINE

The project is ongoing and a first draft will be available by June 2019.
